User Interface Tweaks - Changing the Logon Background Color

If you want to change the standard blue logon color, follow the next steps:

  1. Open the Registry Editor click on the Start button on your taskbar, then click on Run and type "regedit" and click on OK to start the regedit utility.

  2. Expand HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors\Background (see picture 1).

    Picture 1
  3. Change the three numbers from the default of 58  110  165  to the RGB values you want, for example 110 110 255 is a fairly light blue, 0  0  0  would be black.

  4. Log off and log back on again to see the change.
